Are Biofuels truly responsible for the global food price hike?
In 1908, Henry Ford designed his Model T to run on a mixture of gasoline and alcohol, calling it the fuel of the future.
Today ethanol is one of the most commonly used Biofuels and conventional ethanol feedstocks (i.e. corn, sugar cane) have limited availability and compete with food.
As a result of this competition, Ethanol is now being blamed for the recent global food price hikes.
So, is it fair to blame ethanol production for the global food shortages?
NextGen BioEthanol aims to answer this question by looking at traditional and NEW feedstocks for ethanol production, as well as examine the latest technologies and processing challenges.
